Velma Edges Commerce 23-18 to End the 2005 Season

VELMA, OK -- The Commerce Tigers were edged 23-18 in Saturday's State Quarterfinal game with the host Velma-Alma Comets. The Tigers end the season with a 12-1 record. Commerce's Seniors finish with a 46-6 career record. Great Job Seniors, you will be dearly missed!

Commerce Rolls on in Playoffs

COMMERCE, Okla. — Unbeaten Commerce, powered by a strong defense and an opportunistic passing game, moved into the quarterfinals of the Oklahoma Class A prep football playoffs Friday night by ousting Park Hill Keys 28-7.

A 21-point second quarter lifted the Tigers, ranked second in Class A by the Tulsa World and third by The Associated Press, to their 12th victory.

The Tigers scored 21 points in the 2nd quarter to seperate themselves from a very good Keys-Park Hill Cougar team at Commerce Friday night.

11.11.05-COMMERCE ADVANCES TO SECOND ROUND OF PLAYOFFS
The Tigers clicked on all cylinders and put away their first round opponent by a final of 47-14.

11.03.05-COMMERCE FINISHES REGULAR SEASON 10-0
The Tigers scored on their first play from scrimmageThursday night and continuted to roll in a the final regular season game against the Quapaw Wildcats Friday night, 39-0. The win gives the Tigers a perfect regular season record.

The Tigers managed a come-from-behind victory over the Afton Eagles Friday night to claim the district title, 31-30.

10.21.05-COMMERCE BEATS PICHER
The Tigers traveled to Picher on Friday, and overcame more injuries to beat Picher 34-19.

The Tigers were not distracted by homecoming on Friday night as the Fairland Owls came to town. Commerce won 54-6..

The Tigers earned a hard faught one point victory over the Oklahoma Union Cougars, 14-13.

The Tigers entertained the Pawnee Black Bears friday night and came away with an exciting 33-28 victory.
